Cost of college went up for all students at the James Rumsey Technical Institute

Tuition and fees rose 3.8 percent for 2018-19 at the James Rumsey Technical Institute, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

West Virginia students paid $6,259 to attend the public school this year – $2,539 more than the $3,720 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 61 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 60 students received grants or scholarships totaling $314,559.

Including all undergraduates (135), 83 students used grants or scholarships totaling $414,401.
