West Chester (6-1-0, 3-0-0 PSAC East) recorded a 3-1 win over Shepherd University (1-4-2, 0-3-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at West Chester on Wednesday.
The Golden Rams took a 1-0 lead at the 7:35 mark on a penalty kick by Kendall Walkes.
Trevor Looby scored an unassisted goal at the 33:06 mark to give West Chester a 2-0 lead at the break.
Sophomore forward Andrew West (Annandale, Va./Carlisle {Pa.}) scored on a feed from freshman midfielder Tyler Hollis (Middletown, Md./Middletown) at the 58:37 mark to cut the lead to 2-1.
West Chester added an insurance goal at the 78:50 mark when Frankie Taylor scored on an assist from Jason Goldfeder.
Senior netminder Billy Wood (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) recorded three saves for the Rams. Aiden Sommers recorded four saves for West Chester.
West Chester had a 23-8 edge in shots with a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal. The Golden Rams held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. match.
