Lockie Fay scored a pair of goals to lead sixth-ranked Mercyhurst (11-0-1) to an 8-0 win over Shepherd University (1-7-4) in men's soccer action at Mercyhurst on Wednesday.
The Lakers also got goals from Sean Kerrigan, Tom Barry, Nic Munch, Jorge Tallada Torres, Thomas Binkowski, and Erik Sederberg.
Senior Billy Wood (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) (49:28, 5 GA, 4 saves) and junior Christian Blazes (Hagerstown, Md./Heritage Academy/Hagerstown CC) (40:32, 3 GA, 2 saves) combined for six saves in goal for the Rams. Jonathan Gomes (52:17, 2 saves) and Mattias Odelius (37:43, 1 save) teamed up to post three saves for the Lakers.
Mercyhurst had a 22-4 edge in shots with a 14-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Lakers had an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host East Stroudsburg for a 1 p.m. match.
