Shepherd Women Fall to Edinboro

 Rana Elhusseini had 20 points, 10 rebounds, and seven steals  to lead Edinboro (4-3, 1-1 PSAC) to an 81-42 win over Shepherd University (0-7, 0-2 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday. 

Sophomore guard/forward Sydney Bolles (Elkview, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead the Rams.Freshman guard Peyton Grant (Plymouth, Maine/Dexter Regional) also tossed in 12 points. 

Senior forward Cara Minor (Hundred, W.Va./North Marion) grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, while sophomore guard Meghan Shipley (Middletown, Md./Middletown) had six points and seven rebounds.         

Ashten Boggs added 12 points for Edinboro. 

Edinboro had a 39-27 lead at halftime. 

Shepherd shot 37.5 percent (15-40) from the floor with a 30.4 percent (7-23) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 62.5 percent (5-8) of their free throws.

Edinboro shot 35.3 percent (30-85) from the floor with a 35 percent effort (114-40) from three-point range. The Fighting Scots shot 53.8 percent (7-13) from the foul line. 

Edinboro had a 44-42 edge on the boards. The Rams forced six turnovers and committed 36.

The Rams return to action on Dec. 18 when they travel to Gannon for a 1 p.m. contest.
