Shepherd Men Pick Up Road Win at Gannon

 Junior guard Daniel McClain-Corley (Clinton, Md./Massanutten Military Academy) scored a game-high 16 points to lead Shepherd (5-4, 2-1 PSAC) to a 51-45 win over Gannon (0-7, 0-3 PSAC) in PSAC men's basketball action at Gannon on Sunday. 

McClain-Corley was 6-of-14 from the floor with a 2-of-8 effort from three-point range. He was 2-for-2 from the foul line. 

Junior guard Phillip Jordan (Rockville, Md./St. Alban's) added 10 points, a game-high eight rebounds, and a game-high three assists. Senior guard Jon Preston (Brandywine, Md./Rock Creek Christian) had six points and six boards, while sophomore guard Jarod Robinson (Laurel, Md./Glenelg Country School) added six points and seven rebounds.

Chris Clancy and Ronny Raphael each scored 10 points to lead the Golden Knights. 

Shepherd connected on 33 percent (17-51) of its field goals with a 24 percent (6-25) performance from three-point range. The Rams drained 78.6 percent (11-14) of their free throws. 

Gannon shot 36.2 percent (17-47) from the floor with a 20 percent (4-20) effort from beyond the arc. The Golden Knights hit on 53.8 percent (7-13) of their free throws. 

Shepherd had a 29-22 lead at halftime. 

The Rams led by 21 points at 49-28 in the second half after sophomore guard Aidan Hughley (York, Pa./York Suburban) hit a jumper with 8:24 left. Gannon closed the game on a 17-2 run to narrow the gap to six points.        

Gannon had a 37-33 rebounding edge. The Rams forced 15 turnovers and committed 10.

The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to Clarion for a 3 p.m. contest.
