Taylor Langan had 18 points nine steals, eight rebounds, and seven assists to lead Millersville (11-9, 6-8 PSAC) to an 81-55 win over Shepherd University (0-20, 0-15 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Millersville on Wednesday night.
Freshman guard Peyton Grant (Plymouth, Maine/Dexter Regional) led the Rams with a career-high 20 points. Grant was 6-of-10 from the floor with a 6-of-7 effort from three-point range. She was 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
Junior guard Kendal Haggerty (Frederick, Md./Urbana/CCBC) had 10 points and tied senior forward Cara Minor (Hundred, W.Va./North Marion) with a team-high five rebounds. Sophomore guard/forward Sydney Bolles (Elkview, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) added six points.
Brenna Ortwein and Makiah Shaw each added 12 points for the Marauders.
Millersville had a 40-35 lead at halftime.
Shepherd shot 33.3 percent (16-48) from the floor with a 42.9 percent (6-14) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit on 85 percent (17-20) of their free throws.
Millersville shot 42.6 percent (29-68) from the floor with a 22.2 percent (4-18) from three-point range. The Marauders shot 70.4 percent (19-27) from the foul line.
Millersville had a 46-30 rebounding advantage. The Rams forced 17 turnovers and committed 28.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Lock Haven for a 1 p.m. contest.
