Shepherd University (16-9) swept a pair of games with Davis & Elkins (4-17) in baseball doubleheader action at Fairfax Field on Tuesday. The Rams gained a 14-3 win in game one and added an 8-4 triumph in the nightcap. 

Davis & Elkins took a 2-0 lead in the first inning in game one behind RBI-singles by Connor Hyde and Cort Kegley. 

Shepherd railed to take a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the frame. Sophomore infielder Wyatt Miles (Waterford, Va./Woodgrove/Frederick CC) smacked a two-run single to key the rally. 

The Rams added four runs in the second with a two-run homer by redshirt-sophomore outfielder Sam Daggers (Galloway, N.J./Absegami/Rowan Gloucester CC) highlighting the scoring. 

Shepherd took an 11-2 lead in the third with four runs on three hits and an error. 

The Senators added a run in the seventh on an RBI-single by Fletcher Hindman. 

Shepherd added a pair of runs in the fifth. Daggers walked and later scored on a wild pitch. Graduate student third baseman Connor Dewees (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) walked and later scored when senior shortstop Cole Daugherty (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) was hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded. 

The Rams got their final tally in the sixth as Daggers doubled and scored on a single by graduate student catcher Zach Doss (Waldorf, Md./North Point/Maryland). 

Seven Rams had a pair of hits to pace a 14-hit attack for the Rams. 

Kegley went 2-for-3 to lead the Senators. 

Redshirt-sophomore Eli Lam (Elkton, Va./Spotswood/Patrick Henry Community College) (2.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 K, 0 BB) (1-0) gained the win for the Rams. Wesley Athey (3.0 IP, 10 H, 11 R, 7 ER, 1 K, 4 BB) (4-4). 

Shepherd took a 2-0 lead in the first in the nightcap as Daggers and Dewees both drove in a run. 

Davis & Elkins cut the lead to 2-1 in the second on an RBI-single by Dezmon Johnson. 

The Rams took advantage of three hits and two errors to plate four runs in the second to take a 6-1 lead. 

The Senators cut the lead to 6-2 in the third on an RBI-double by Gavin Hartman. 

Senior first baseman Ross Mulhall (Morgantown, W.Va./University/Gardner-Webb) stroked a two-run single in the third to give the Rams an 8-2 advantage. 

Davis and Elkins added a single run in the fourth and the sixth.  

Mulhall went 2-for-3 to lead the Rams. 

Johnson went 4-for-4 for the Senators. 

Redshirt-freshman pitcher Zac Rose (Charles Town, W.Va./Jefferson) (2.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 K, 1 BB) (1-1) gained the victory. Malakai Webb (3.0 IP, 5 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 0 K, 4 BB) (1-1) took the loss.
