Annette Jordan has been recognized as the G.E.M. of the Week for her contributions to Hedgesville High School and Berkeley County Schools. With over two decades of experience, she serves as a Business teacher and Student Government/Leadership Advisor at HHS.
Mrs. Brown praised Mrs. Jordan's dedication, stating, “Mrs. Jordan has been a teacher at HHS for more than 20 years. She is a Business teacher as well as our Student Government/Leadership Advisor. There is no one better suited for this role because of the dedication and eagerness to do for others that she displays in her job every day."
Mrs. Jordan is known for her commitment to student development, teaching them integrity, accountability, and respect. Her involvement extends beyond the classroom with students participating in community service projects like the Berkeley County Backpack Program, Special Olympics Unified Sports Program, United Way, Relay for Life, American Red Cross, and PASS.
She organizes blood drives for the American Red Cross and Relay for Life activities for the American Cancer Society. Additionally, she manages Homecoming spirit week events such as pep rallies and dances.
Beyond these responsibilities, Mrs. Jordan dedicates time after school volunteering as the track and field computer official, football scoreboard operator, baseball game announcer, and planning meals and concessions for soccer and basketball teams.
Her leadership style inspires both colleagues and students alike. As Mrs. Brown put it: "Anyone who works with her is easily inspired by her optimism and energy."
