American Public University System enrolls 37,746 undergrads

At American Public University System, 83 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 64 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private for-profit institution in Charles Town enrolled 46,088 students in fall 2018, including 37,746 in undergraduate and 8,342 in graduate programs, data shows. 13.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

1 percent of undergraduates are residents of West Virginia, and 95 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (55 percent) and Black or African American (16 percent).
