Dr. Ryan S. Saxe was officially sworn in as the new superintendent of Berkeley County Schools on Monday evening. The ceremony took place with 23rd Judicial Circuit Judge Bridget Cohee administering the oath, as Saxe's family observed.
Saxe, who was appointed by the Berkeley County Board of Education in June, brings 19 years of educational experience to his new role. His previous positions include seven years as superintendent of Cabell County Schools. In addition, he has been recognized by the West Virginia Association of School Administrators as the 2024 West Virginia State Superintendent of the Year.
