Student educates peers on Ramadan and inspires classroom decorations

Amir Yassine was recently recognized in the "G.E.M. of the Week" feature for his contributions in promoting understanding of Ramadan and Muslim culture among his peers. Ms. Marks, who nominated Amir, praised his leadership in educating classmates on the significance and values of Ramadan, including its traditions of fasting, charity, prayer, and community. "I nominate Amir for his exceptional leadership in teaching peers about Ramadan and celebrating Muslim culture," she stated. They further added that Amir's "thoughtful lesson inspired us to create lanterns to decorate our classroom for the month of Ramadan!" As a result of his efforts, classmates not only gained new insights but also participated in creating decorative lanterns for their classroom.
