Second grader wins state fire safety poster contest

Gracelynn Barrett, a second-grade student at Bunker Hill Elementary, has been recognized as the winner of the West Virginia State Fire Marshal Fire Safety poster contest.

State Fire Marshal Tyree traveled from Charleston to present Gracelynn with a plaque and a framed copy of her winning poster. Her artwork will be included in the upcoming West Virginia State Fire Safety calendar.

The contest aims to celebrate creativity while imparting important lessons about fire safety and prevention to students.
