School of Music to host percussion and studio concert on November 14

Shepherd University’s School of Music is hosting an evening of percussion ensemble and studio music in the Frank Arts Center McCoy Rehearsal Hall on Monday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m., under the direction of Dr. Steven Owen, adjunct music professor. Admission is free and open to the public.

The program includes “Sand” by Alan Keown, “Saeta from Eight Pieces for Four Timpani” by Elliott Carter, “Trio in a Rudimental Style” and “To Varèse” by Joe Tompkins, “Ave Maria” by Josquin des Prez, and “Song of the Quetzalcoatl” by Lou Harrison.

Percussion ensemble performers in this recital are Sean Cole, Martinsburg, West Virginia; Jenna Sherman, Bunker Hill, West Virginia; Jacob Rawn, Charles Town, West Virginia; Anthony Domina, Connellsville, Pennsylvania; Savannah Hodges, Leonardtown, Maryland; and Jonathan Zutt, Gambrills, Maryland.
